The preschool at St. John strives through Catholic principles and Montessori philosophy to create a loving environment that will allow the student to grow in faith potential, social grace, discipline, and academics.
Morning (8:30-11:00am) and afternoon (12:30-3:00pm) sessions are available. A three day (M, T, W) session is also available.
Goals:
- To develop the potential of the child by direct experience with Montessori Prepared Environment and the use of didactic materials.
- To foster in the child the Montessori principles of order, concentration, coordination, and independence.
- To foster confidence through successfully dealing with new and different tasks and situations.
- To build on family love relationships in order to initiate children to God's love growing within them.
- To pass on Catholic tradition to the child through the celebration of the Liturgical Seasons.
- To prepare the child through a broad experimental base for the ongoing program at St. John School by developing basic concepts of math and phonics.
All students need to be toilet trained and three years old by August 31.
