Grades 1 and 2:
Students in grades 1 and 2 experience drama under the direction of St. John teacher, Mrs. Kathleen Spaulding. The theatre unit incorporates a variety of subjects including visual arts, social studies, language arts, dance, music, and reading. Students use the technique of improvisation and applied problem solving skills to bring stories to life on stage.
Art projects, music, and dance are reflective of various cultures represented in the language arts curriculum.
Grades 3, 4, and 5:
A spring musical is a highlight for students in grades 3, 4, and 5. All students are included in the production, under the direction of music teacher, Mrs. Kathleen Spaulding. The musical production involves many parent volunteers.
Grades 6, 7, and 8:
An extracurricular drama program is available to our middle school students. Past productions include Annie Jr., The Music Man, Jr., Oklahoma, Jr. Drama program director is Mrs. Katie Franklin.
