St. John School hosts a coffee sale annually in the fall. Twelve ounce bags of Colombian coffee are offered for $10 per bag. The Colombian coffee producers are paid a fair wage and use the funds to improve the standard of living in their area.

The vendor, Northwest Specialty Coffee, is owned by Ryan Stoulil and Chris Tessera, graduates of Holy Rosary Edmonds and O’Dea High School. The company donates a portion of every sale to Coffee Kids, a non-profit organization committed to aiding the growers of Mexico and Central America in their effort to build sustainable communities.

Not only does St. John School realize a profit of about $5 per bag, but the fundraiser complements the school mission to empower our children for leadership and service to the Church and society through “stewardship of our time, talent, and treasure for the common good of the Church, society, and the earth.”
