This week your goal is to amass pictures, political cartoons, advertisements, etc. The basic ephemera of any era can indicate so much about the zeitgeist! Use music, jingles, etc. of the era to help capture the feel. Feel free to juxtapose any modern media that might enhance your project!

RELIGION: Today we discussed your examples of unrealistic physical beauty in the media. What are the dangers of this line of thinking? How is one to have healthy self-esteem while being inundated with these images? A few videos prompted our discussions. For tonight, please consider a character in your favorite movie, tv show, book, etc. who might be considered to have poor self-esteem. We will use him or her for our next discussion.

RELIGION: Today we discussed what physical characteristics of men and women are the expectation of "beauty". How is one supposed to have good self-esteem while being inundated with unrealistic images of physical perfection? This weekend, find an advertisement, a commercial, or other message of what is considered beautiful. We will pick up our discussion on Tuesday.
