"Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel.  You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children."
Pablo Casals

About Mrs. Pat Tsagalakis
This will be my 14th year teaching music at St. John School.  I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to celebrate and share the joy of music with my students.  We love to sing, dance and perform.

I was born into a musical family from Missoula, Montana.  (Even though my dad used to practice his violin laying down on the couch) My older sister, Maria Lambros-Kannen is an extraordinary violist and has always been my inspiration and mentor.   I studied Music at the University of Michigan where I graduated with a B.M. in Vocal Performance and Arts Management.  I play both flute and piano.  I'm married and have two terrific kids Nicholas (our WA Husky) and Maria Sophia (Our Oregon Duck).  My husband, Fr. Tom serves as the priest at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Shoreline. I'm so grateful that I am able teach music at St. John's along side the talented Mrs. Becky Kelly.   I love to travel, cook, entertain friends, watch soccer, take photographs and course... SING!

"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth."  Mark Twain

PARENTS & RELATIVES:  IF YOU PLAY A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT and would like to share your talent with our students - please let me know.  We'd love for you to visit our music classroom and demonstrate your instrument.
